The 2008 golf season is coming fast but before you dive right in we need to prepare our bodies by stretching. A couple of key areas that need special attention are our shoulders, lower back, wrists and forearm, and thighs and hips. A stiff body and restricted range of motion results in poor timing, loss of power and potential injury.
Shoulders: This helps allow you to keep a strait left arm from address through impact.
Lower back: Stretching our back allows for a greater shoulder turn away from the golf ball which helps keep the club on plane. This shoulder turn also known as a coil helps promote clubhead speed.
Wrist and forearm: This will help us to snap your wrist quicker through impact creating greater clubhead speed which results in more distance.
Thighs and hips: A large part of our swing comes from our lower bodies. Wait transfer, rhythm and strength are directly related to our legs and hips. By stretching our “core” we open doors to smoother, stronger swing.
