We are thrilled to announce our new and returning management staff here at Longboards Bar and Grill!
Our new Executive Chef, Ravyn Rodriguez, was born and raised in Portola, California. She attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco before returning to Reno, where she worked at various restaurants, including Western Village Steakhouse, Charlie Palmer Steakhouse, and most recently at the Atlantis Steakhouse. She also helped to reopen the newly remodeled Toucan Charlie’s Buffet. Ravyn is excited to introduce some new menu items this season and revamp some favorites!
Jennifer Haverfield will be joining us as restaurant and bar manager. Jennifer is also a native of the area. She has been in the restaurant business for 30 years, working at restaurants all over Graeagle. In 2005, she opened Bonta St. Bistro in Blairsden. After selling the Bistro in 2010, she moved to Kona, Hawaii where she worked as General Manager of Splasher’s Bar & Grill and Sam Choy’s Kai Lanai. Jennifer recently returned from Kona and is excited to join the Longboards team.
Chef Nicholas Hagman will be returning for his 18th season here at Longboards! Nic started from the ground up as a dishwasher in 1999 and has worked his way up to Chef. In his 18 years at Longboards, he has helped prepare culinary delights for several hundred weddings and over a thousand banquets and groups. Nick has spent this past winter working at the restaurant at Sugarbowl Ski Resort. He is looking forward to working with his friends from over the years and the new staff this season.
Chef Ravyn, Chef Nic, and Jennifer are working on the new menu items for both lunch and dinner. We can’t wait to taste their creations. They are also contacting potential staff to build their teams for this season to make sure that our guest’s experience at Longboards is beyond expectation. We can’t wait to welcome everyone on opening night Thursday, May 4, 2017.
